Pivotal Founder Melinda French Gates Joins Leaders for Childcare Discussion
EPIC recently welcomed Pivotal Founder Melinda French Gates, Guild President and CEO Bijal Shah, and Denver International Airport (DEN) President and CEO Phil Washington for a conversation on the critical role employers can play in advancing childcare solutions for working families. The visit follows Pivotal’s transformative investment in EPIC, reflecting a continued commitment to expanding access to childcare options.
The visit included a tour of Guild’s onsite childcare center, The Beehive, which was developed with support from EPIC through its employer-focused childcare model. The Beehive is designed to support working parents by bringing quality early learning directly into the workplace.
For DEN, the visit also highlighted the airport’s commitment to supporting working families through childcare solutions. Since 2024, EPIC has partnered with DEN to help launch a new drop-in childcare facility at the Center for Equity and Excellence in Aviation (CEAA), and the airport continues to explore additional strategies that support working families and strengthen the airport’s workforce.
During the tour, children enjoyed a special story time with Melinda, creating a meaningful moment that reflected the importance of investing in environments where child can learn and thrive while parents are at work. This visit was a powerful example of what’s possible when leaders come together to prioritize childcare as essential infrastructure for families, employers and communities.
We’re proud to partner with organizations like Pivotal, Guild and DEN to advance solutions that support working families.
